Initially, it was the mental health unit, and later in 1984, it was upgraded as the mental health department. The goal of a mental hospital is to establish mental hospital lagankhel as a “Center of excellence in the field of Psychiatry and Mental Health.”
The mission of the Mental Hospital Lagankhel is to promote mental health literacy and eliminate the stigma attached to Mental Health and improve mental health and overall quality of life.
