Lumbini Eye Institute was established in 1983. Initially, the hospital was started with four staff, two rooms, and Dr. S.P Dhital a doctor within Government Hospital (Bhim Hospital).
Lumbini Eye Institute (LEI) is now a well-developed eye center. It is also renown as the most successful eye care center operated by Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh in Nepal.
250 bedded hospital entwine enough experience eye care and has the support of paramedical personnel. The main aim of the hospital is to have a nation where no one lives with blindness.
